You can still support Ben’s Great North Run

Ben Webster from HM Revenue and Customs in Birmingham took part in the Great North Run in Newcastle on 13 September and has raised more than £450 so far.

Ben said: " Actually the race didn't go as planned.   I broke a toe at six miles, so the second half of the race was more of a jog than a run, and the half an hour in the medical tent wrecked my time.  The atmosphere was something else and I'd recommend it to anyone! If you watched very carefully indeed I was on the BBC1 highlights programme successfully chasing down someone dressed as a minion on the finish line!"

Ben was really pleased to have the chance to take up a place on the run as a result of HMRC's partnership with The Lifeboat Fund.

You can still show support for Ben’s heroic efforts by donating on his Virgin Money Giving page:

All money raised will go towards The Lifeboat Fund’s 150th Anniversary Appeal, to help buy that amazing Shannon class all-weather lifeboat!

If you’re a runner like Ben and were sorry to miss out on a place in the Great North Run this year, tell your organisation’s Lifeboat Fund fundraising team or contact James Warren in good time in 2016, as once more there will be places reserved for us by the RNLI, as part of its efforts to support the Shannon Appeal.
