London Cardiff 24

Clare Parker
Friday 17 February 2017

Are you up for a 24-hour challenge? Can you get together a team of 12?

The UK’s longest point-to-point relay race takes place from Twickenham to Cardiff on Friday 9th through to Saturday 10th June 2017.

That’s 160 miles over 24 hours.  Teams of 12 run in stages of between 2 and 13 miles, and you keep going right through the night. If you wish to take part but running isn’t your thing we’re looking for support team members – including drivers - to help during the event.

Two government teams are already running for us. So if your department or workplace is up for it, here’s what we’ll do:

  • We’ll pay your entry fee;
  • hire a mini bus for shuttling teams between the stages (and so you can snooze between stages);
  • you’ll get a Lifeboat Fund running vest/t-shirt (depending on what’s available in your size);
  • and provide a food card for three modest meals through the 24 hours.

From you, we ask for minimum sponsorship of £350-£400, though of course anything higher would be fabulous. If you want to be part of the support team, we’d also like you to raise funds for us.

Remember, this event runs overnight, so there’s no accommodation.

To take part for the Lifeboat Fund, please email: susan.chrisfield@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk
