The charity's Chair, Sir Peter Housden, is delighted to announce the publication of the Report and Financial Statements for year-ended December 2011.

2011 was another good year for The Lifeboat Fund.  £122,000 was raised, enabling us to achieve our plan for the year, to support the training and equipping of lifeboat crews around the UK.

In the last year, we welcomed some new Trustees onto the Executive Committee – including two Permanent Secretaries (Bronwyn Hill CBE and Una O'Brien CB, of Defra and the Department of Health, respectively) - and also a new Deputy Chair (Frances Kilner of DWP) and a new Treasurer (Christine McLaughlin of the Scottish Government).  Other new Trustees are Diane Wailes of HMRC, Nicola Baker of the MoJ and Hope Halstad.

We are proud that, in 2011, The Lifeboat Fund maintained its position as the RNLI’s single largest regular contributor, while our lifeboats in the RNLI fleet rescued 141 people, 5 of whom now owe their lives to their brave rescuers

Read in the Report about the events of 2011, including the campaigns of many Government bodies who support the charity and who applied much innovation and enthusiasm organising activities and taking collections for this great cause.

We are extremely thankful to you all!

For a second year, The Lifeboat Fund is extremely grateful to APS Group (Scotland) Ltd for generously donating this Report, free of cost to the charity.
