Festive help with our fundraising!

The RNLI recently provided some expert advice to support fundraising activities on its behalf by friends in The Lifeboat Fund.  As Christmas fast approaches, we're sharing these as a wee gift to supporters who may be looking for ideas!

The Lifeboat Fund's Executive Commmittee received a helpful presentation on Fundraising Tips from our beneficiary at its last meeting and thought supporters might like to see this too, on the website.  There are lots of ways to make the most of fundraising events - by careful planning, strong communications and using the advice available from the RNLI and from The Fund's Secretary, Angela

London-based Government bodies' campaigns can be supported by a visit to Tower Lifeboat Station (the busiest lifeboat station in the UK) where Visits Officer, Andrew Stewart, is happy to help.  Approaches to Andrew should be made through Natalie Fischer, of the RNLI's London and SE Office.

Why not 'piggyback' the RNLI's own fundraising activities?  The Fund's supporters might prefer helping with the RNLI's major street collections to running their own events (or might supplement their own activities in that way).  Any donations collected on "London Lifeboat Day" in May - or at other organised collections around the country - can be attributed to Fund supporters' own organisations' campaigns.  Again, please contact Natalie Fischer to discuss arrangements.

It can be highly inspirational and boost donations to have an RNLI speaker at your event.  Please complete this booking form to obtain RNLI speakers.  The Fund's Secretary, Angela, can help to brief those speakers about The Lifeboat Fund charity.  As well as enquiring if RNLI crew members can support and attend The Fund's promotional activities, consider asking the RNLI for youth education speakers, who can talk about safety issues.  Again, your contact to discuss these options is Natalie Fischer

To complement the 'A to Z Guide' on this website and in our Fundraisers' Packs, the RNLI has shared with us a new “A-Z” guide to Fundraising activities which covers a lot of great ideas for raising donations.  We always say fundraising should be fun - and these options certainly are.  Why not browse through the pages of this Excel booklet and be inspired!

We hope these tips prove helpful to our much valued supporters.  Do let us know what you think!
