Paul Boissier, Chief Executive of the RNLI, has sent a warm message of thanks to the fundraisers and donors of The Lifeboat Fund, with his congratulations on the result of the 2011 Appeal.  Paul said,

"I am immensely grateful for the work that The Lifeboat Fund does on behalf of the RNLI and would like to offer my sincere thanks to you for all the hard work during 2011.  The Lifeboat Fund 2011 Appeal total is a wonderful achievement and the £122,000 will go a long way in ensuring our volunteers return home safely."

Sir Peter Housden, Chair of The Lifeboat Fund, added his thanks for "the tremendous effort and enthusiasm " that supporters devoted to fundraising in 2011.  Departmental donations held up well, and giving by pensioners contributed strongly, as The Fund maintained its proud position as the RNLI's single largest regular supporter.
