HMRC's walkers go the extra mile

HMRC's Meldrum House Office in Edinburgh features again on the website for its great work for The Lifeboat Fund.
Gayle Fernie writes:
Debs Wilson and I, as Green Reps for HMRC Meldrum House, decided we would like to arrange another event in aid of The Lifeboat Fund.
We decided on a sponsored walk and realised we should arrange this quickly as we were nearing the end of summer and hoping for a dry, warm night.
We decided on a 7 mile walk around Edinburgh after work on Tuesday, 2nd September and enlisted 9 other walkers to join us.
I think we were very lucky as we had lovely weather for our walk and completed the 7 miles in 1hr 45 minutes. We walked up Lothian Road, around The Meadows over to Arthur’s Seat and finished up at London Road/Leith Walk.
We finished off our walk nicely with a small refreshment in a local bar.
Due to the very generous nature of our colleagues and families, we raised a grand total of £820.09!
Angela Saunders replys:
That's excellent Gayle and the team. You picked a nice route around Edinburgh and raised a splendid donation to help train the RNLI's volunteers!
