The 2008 Appeal has now been launched. Campaign material goes to supporting Government Departments and other organisations. Collections will take place until the end of the year. Collections received after 31 December 2008 will go towards next year's appeal.

Every day it costs £335,000 to run the RNLI, every penny of which comes from voluntary contributions and legacies.

England, Wales and Scotland

We want to purchase three new lifeboats over the next three years.

The new lifeboats will be needed at Poole, New Brighton and Portrush.

The Lifeboat Fund can only purchase these boats with your help, so please give generously to the 2008 Appeal. (Back to Top)

All weather lifeboats cost from £12,000,000; small inshore lifeboats cost £25,000 and fast inshore boats cost £100,000. To ensure we save lives by meeting our programme of purchases, we really need your support this year.

Northern Ireland

The Lifeboat Fund has launched an appeal for its first lifeboat in Northern Ireland since 2000.  We need to raise £25,000 by 2010 when the new lifeboat is due to go into service at Portrush.

All money raised by NI departments will go towards our Portrush Lifeboat Appeal.

Please give generously to the appeal.

RNLI Lifeboats and Crews depend on voluntary donations.

Gift Aid

Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give to The Lifeboat Fund, the charity will receive an extra 28 pence from HM Revenue & Customs, helping your donation go further.

This means that £10 can be turned into £12.80 just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid. Imagine what a difference that could make, and it doesn't cost you a thing.
