North east RNLI volunteers first in England to receive innovative new lifejackets

Volunteer Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) crews on the north east coast have become the first in England to receive new state-of-the-art lifejackets.

The lifejackets arrived at the RNLI’s eight lifeboat stations from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Tynemouth two months after the charity launched a fundraising appeal to pay for them...

Penlee RNLI inshore lifeboat assists Newlyn fishing vessel

Falmouth Coastguard requested the launch of the Penlee RNLI inshore lifeboat yesterday morning, Tuesday 21 February, at 9:20am to assist a seven metre fishing vessel that had a fouled propeller and was anchored to the sea bed.
